Everything Bagel Dressing – because salads deserve the same energy as brunch.
Maybe I should call it Everything But The Bagel Dressing…
There are two kinds of people in this world: people who put Everything Bagel seasoning on literally everything… and people who haven’t lived yet.
This creamy, tangy, slightly sweet salad dressing is basically ranch with a personality – and by personality, I mean sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, and dried onion showing up to the party like they own the place. It’s five minutes to whisk together, and it somehow makes a sad bowl of lettuce feel rather bougie.

I believe what prompted me to make this dressing is my Everything Bagel Cheese Dip I made a few years ago. It has been one of my very favorite dips, and has been pretty popular on the blog.
If you haven’t already, make sure to save it and pin it.
Why Everything Bagel Dressing Dressing Works
- Mayonnaise: Rich, creamy base—keeps your greens from tasting like regret.
- Apple cider vinegar: Bright acidity to cut through the mayo.
- Honey: A touch of sweetness to balance the savory chaos.
- Whole milk: Thins it to actual dressing territory.
- Onion powder + salt: Just the right background notes.
- Everything Bagel seasoning: Crunch, garlic, onion, sesame, poppy seeds… the works.
Because I like “everything” stuff so much…
I decided to make my own Everything seasoning. I honestly don’t know why I didn’t think of that before – it’s so easy. I’ll give you the recipe below, and more than likely you already have all the things you need in your pantry; poppy seeds, black and white sesame seeds, onion flakes, dried minced garlic, and sea salt.
Quick Tips For Everything Bagel Dressing
- Start with 1 – 2 tablespoons of Everything Bagel seasoning, then adjust to taste.
- Let it chill 30 minutes so the garlic and onion bloom.
- Too thick? Loosen with a splash of milk.

Use Everything Bagel Dressing On…
- Chopped romaine with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and avocado
- Crispy chicken salad
- Roasted potato wedges
- A dip for cucumbers, pretzels or pizza
- Turkey sandwiches in place of regular mayo
Basically anything that could use a little crunch and a lot of personality.
Do you know where this brilliant idea came from? I don’t – but when I tried to find out, it’s just not clear cut. Apparently, a couple of different New York bakers have claimed to have created the concoction.
I mean, come on.
You would think the person that really had this light bulb moment would have retained a license. I’m just glad someone thought of it, because it’s brilliant.
The Vibe
This is the dressing you make when:
- You’re over plain ranch.
- You want something familiar but with a twist.
- You have half a jar of Everything Bagel seasoning in the pantry calling your name.
Simple ingredients, big flavor, zero drama.

Recipe lists “vinegar” and then specifies, “apple cider vinegar”. What type vinegar?
