Welcome to my own little piece of the internet I named Dixie Chik Cooks – I’m so glad you found me!
I’m Shea Goldstein. Are you hungry?
Here’s a few little things about me. First and foremost, YES, I say “hey” and “y’all”. I’m a polished Southern belle.
I started the blog in September of 2010 as a way to chronicle my recipes for my family, and it transformed from a hobby to a business. It’s my passion and I love being able to do what I love best.
I absolutely adore food, and cooking is my therapy. There’s just about nothing I wouldn’t put a jalapeno on. Burgers are my love, and I simply CANNOT learn enough in this vast and beautiful culinary world. I’m self taught in the kitchen, as well as in photography.
All photos on this site are taken by me, unless otherwise noted. I shoot with a Pentax K-r, which has been my baby since the beginning, but at this moment I’m shopping for a new camera. Update: I now shoot with a Canon EOS M50. If you have any questions about the use of either camera, please feel free to send me an email to shea (at) dixiechikcooks (dot) (com) – I’m constantly learning.
I appreciate and feel honored when others want to use my photos, however please ask for permission at media (at) dixiechikcooks (dot) (com). Media below.

December 20, 2022 at 4:10 PMHello Shea,
I am looking at your WHITE CHEDDAR GREEN BEAN ORZO CASSEROLE WITH FRIED ONIONS STRINGS. Green bean casserole is part of my family’s (Macon, GA) Christmas tradition, and I am hoping to use your recipe. However, when I read the ingredients, I don’t see cheddar cheese listed. Maybe I am missing something. But if you see this before Christmas, please provide some details about the cheese.
Thanks
Patrick

with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself?
Anyway keep up the nice quality writing, it is rare

July 8, 2013 at 12:45 AMHi Shea! I see you went to a blog conference in Birmingham…are you FROM Birmingham? I ask because I live in Hueytown, which is between B’ham and Bessemer! Well, sorta. :0)
I’m new at reading/subscribing to food blogs…just started a little less than a year ago, if my memory is correct, and I LOVED your Ten Tips for New Bloggers! I SOO want to be a blogger and just can NOT figure it out. I’ve had people try to be helpful, and tell me things, even advise websites that help build blogs, but what I’m hearing/reading sounds as if I already know what I’m talking about, and there’s nothing further from the truth! Is there a site for beginners that no NOTHING, even some of the terminology that you need to know in order to follow the darn steps?!? I’m sooo smart about so many things, but computers (and now iPads/iPhones) just aren’t in that category.
Thanks so much, Shea! And, if you DO live in/close to B’ham, I’d love to meet you one day…have a cooking lunch or something!
