Caesar Salad Burger

Caesar Salad Burger with Jalapeno Parmesan Croutons

This Caesar Salad Burger is one of a kind. It’s an amazing burger that’s loaded with fresh Romaine lettuce, shredded Parmesan cheese, homemade Caesar dressing and these outstanding Jalapeno Parmesan croutons. It’s a burger you definitely won’t find at a local restaurant.

It’s one of those.

The OMG Burgers.

I’ve been obsessed with Caesar salad for a good 10-15 years now, and I had to finally stop suppressing my need to make this. I knew that this was going to be either –

  1. Weird, and not good in any of the ways I had in mind and go straight to the trash, never to be spoken of again

OR

     2. Insanely delicious, and I drive my family crazy chasing them around, burger in hand, begging them to taste it

It actually didn’t surprise me that it ended up being #2. I This has all the flavors of a Caesar salad with the addition of homemade croutons. Not just any croutons, mind you, but homemade Jalapeno Parmesan croutons. There’s something so good about the textures combining – the juicy burger and slightly crunchy croutons and fresh Romaine with Caesar dressing. It tastes like a steakhouse Caesar salad crashed into burger night and absolutely refused to apologize.

Why This Burger Actually Works

  • Creamy Caesar dressing replacing traditional burger sauce
  • Parmesan adding salty umami
  • Romaine bringing freshness and crunch
  • Jalapeño croutons acting almost like crispy fried onions but better

You could use bottled Caesar dressing, or make your own. Either will work, but homemade is always better. I didn’t over season the burgers because there’s a lot of flavor going on here. There’s something about the addition of the slight crunchiness of the croutons that set this burger apart from most.

Remember that if you like jalapeno flavor but not big on heat you’ll need to deseed and derib (is that a word??) the pepper and rinse before you dice it.

Just don’t touch your face before you wash your hands!

Oh, and another tip – I mixed in some Caesar dressing with one of the burgers before I grilled it and I think I liked it better than without it. I didn’t add that to the printable recipe but feel free to do that – I think it made it more juicy.

Caesar Salad Burger

Not too long ago I made a Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza. Did you see it?? If not – click here.

For these burgers I used Sprouts‘ All-Natural lean ground chuck and fresh romaine lettuce.

Their meat and seafood is top quality. If you have a Sprouts in your area I highly recommend you become a customer – the produce section looks like a work of art and everything is so fresh.
