Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage Balls

Yes, these are those highly addictive little fattening greasy sausage balls you eat at holiday parties.

You know, the ones that you can’t stop eating even though you want to.


But they’re different. I added fresh jalapenos.

Imagine that.


Also, after making them a few times I’ve noticed something I need to share.

Get Jimmy Dean brand sausage. No, they aren’t paying me – this isn’t one of those sponsored posts. I just think their quality is that good.

You could definitely add more jalapeno to these, I just have to be careful because Mark doesn’t like heat. What is wrong with him? I like for my mouth to be on fire.

My jalapenos make sausage balls look sexy.

Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage Balls


  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, washed, deseeded and diced
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 12 oz roll breakfast sausage


  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, salt and cayenne.
  • Add diced jalapeno, cheese and sausage.
  • Grind with your hands thoroughly, until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • Roll into balls (mine were just a little smaller than golf ball size) and bake on a prepared baking sheet for 20-25 minutes.
