Jalapeno Popper Dumplings

Crispy jalapeño popper dumplings made with creamy, cheesy filling wrapped in wontons and fried until golden. Served with a fresh mango cilantro dipping sauce—perfect party appetizer.

You know how you make jalapeño poppers for a party and then—miraculously—there are leftovers?

Yeah. That’s never happened to me either.

But hypothetically, if you did have leftover jalapeño poppers, this is exactly what you should do: throw them into a food processor, wrap it in a wonton, and deep fry it. Now you’ve basically upgraded your leftovers into something you’d absolutely serve as a host/hostess and pretend you planned all along.

And the mango cilantro dipping sauce? Not optional. It cuts through all that richness and makes you feel like you have your life together.

Why You’ll Love These Jalapeño Popper Dumplings

  • Perfect use for leftover jalapeño poppers
  • Crispy outside, creamy inside (the dream)
  • Easy to make ahead
  • That mango cilantro sauce = chef’s kiss

Jalapeno Popper Wontons

Tips for Success

  • Don’t overfill (tempting, but messy)
  • Seal tightly—air bubbles = dumpling betrayal
  • Fry in batches so the oil temp doesn’t drop
  • If your filling is super soft, chill it first for easier handling

Variations

  • Bake or air fry instead of deep frying
  • Add extra bacon (obviously)
  • Mix in pepper jack for more heat
  • Swap mango sauce for ranch if you’re feeling chaotic Midwest

Storage + Reheating

  • Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days
  • Reheat in air fryer or oven to bring back the crisp
  • Microwave = soft sadness (but still edible)

Fold them up like little stars. Here’s a link to show your how to shape them a few different ways. I like the four pointed star technique – it’s easy.  If I can do it, you can do it.

You bring each side up, two at a time, and press to seal all edges.

See how cute these are??

What makes these beautiful things so unique is the Cilantro Mango dipping sauce. It’s absurdly, insanely delicious.

It works so perfectly with the wontons.

This is my new favorite appetizer.
