Candy Corn Vodka (Easy Infused Halloween Cocktail Recipe)

Learn how to make Candy Corn Vodka at home with just two ingredients! This colorful, sweet infusion is perfect for Halloween cocktails, parties, and spooky fun.

I’m sure you’ve seen and/or had the many different vodkas that are infused with flavors like whipped cream, grape, cranberry, etc., but have you tried to make them at home? Since fall is here, I thought it would be a perfect time to share how I make Candy Corn Vodka. It’s one of the easiest recipes you’ll ever make – just two ingredients!

I’m typically not a dessert girl. Give me hot, spicy, cheesy beautiful food any day of the week. However, every now and then I have a little hankering for something sweet. Combine that with my affinity for a really good cocktail and here we are. It’s also fun when you have a holiday to conveniently weave a cocktail through, such as Halloween.

Halloween is the one time of year when candy becomes a legitimate cocktail ingredient, and I’m not mad about it. Enter Candy Corn Vodka: a two-ingredient infusion that turns everyone’s favorite (or least favorite) Halloween candy into a sweet, orange-ish spirit. It’s ridiculously easy, slightly kitschy, and exactly the kind of thing that makes an autumn party feel over the top in the best way possible. Whether you’re mixing up martinis, spooky shots, or a punch big enough to scare your neighbors, this is the trick and the treat in one bottle.

What is Candy Corn Vodka?

We’ve all seen the stuff on Pinterest about candy, fruit, herbs, etc. infused vodka recipes, like infusing vodka with jolly ranchers, caramel, etc. It’s usually pretty straightforward. You combine your flavor medium of choice with your vodka of choice and let

So, every October I make a fall arrangement for my dining room table (I use the term “arrangement” loosely- I’m really, really not very good at that kinda thing), which includes my glass pumpkin that I fill with candy corn. I have to continue to refill and refill this thing until Halloween is over because anyone walking through the door can’t stop from grabbing one or seven handfuls of candy corn.

Hey, I don’t mind – I put it there for a reason.

So, the candy corn got me thinking about the whole candy/vodka thing – if Jolly Ranchers dissolve to make Jolly Rancher infused vodka, will candy corn do the same?

The answer is yes, yes it does. It’s smooth, almost velvety, and I’m so proud of it.

One could also describe this as a little buttery, and very easy to drink. It’s seriously the perfect little shot. I’m wondering what one could mix this with…..thoughts??

What You’ll Need

  • Vodka (mid-range, see note below)

  • Candy corn

  • Mason jar or airtight container

  • Strainer (for later)

How to Make Candy Corn Vodka

  1. Pour vodka into a mason jar or airtight container.

  2. Add candy corn (roughly 1 cup per 750ml vodka).

  3. Seal and let sit at room temperature, shaking gently once or twice a day.

  4. Taste after 48 hours, then continue until desired sweetness (usually 2–5 days).

  5. Strain out the candy corn and pour the infused vodka into a clean bottle.

Tips for the Best Infusion

When it comes to infusing vodka, you don’t need to raid the top shelf. The candy corn itself is going to do most of the heavy lifting in terms of sweetness and flavor, so using a super-premium bottle is basically like pouring Chanel No. 5 on a scarecrow – pointless and expensive. On the flip side, don’t go bottom-shelf either; cheap vodka will taste harsh no matter how much sugar you throw at it. A solid mid-range brand (think Tito’s, Smirnoff, or Absolut) is the sweet spot: smooth enough to sip, but affordable enough that you won’t feel guilty about soaking it in neon-orange sugar bombs.

I used Pinnacle here because it’s a good vodka that I like to make cocktails with and it’s easy on the wallet.

💡 Vodka Choice: Splurge or Save?

  • Top-Shelf Vodka → Smooth, but wasted here. The candy corn sugar will overpower it.

  • Bottom-Shelf Vodka → Cheap, but harsh. No amount of sugar can hide that burn.

  • Mid-Range VodkaWinner! Smooth, affordable, and perfect for infusing.

The candy corn I used is S’mores flavored, but of course any candy corn will work. I just used this because I recently bought a big fat bag of it.

FAQ

Q: Can I use cheap vodka for Candy Corn Vodka?
A: Technically, yes, but ultra-cheap vodka tends to be harsh. Mid-range brands like Tito’s, Smirnoff, or Absolut hit the sweet spot: smooth, affordable, and perfect for infusing.

Q: How long should I infuse Candy Corn Vodka?
A: 2–5 days is ideal. Taste daily after 48 hours to reach your preferred sweetness.

Q: Do I need to refrigerate Candy Corn Vodka?
A: No—vodka’s alcohol content keeps it shelf-stable. Just seal it and store in a cool, dark place.

Q: How long does it last?
A: Several months in a sealed bottle. Flavor may intensify over time.

Q: Can I use other candies?
A: Yes! Gummies, hard candies, or chocolates work, but adjust cocktail recipes for flavor differences.
