If you love a little savory and a little sweet for breakfast, you’ll love an idea I recently came up with.
When my daughter was halfway through high school, I decided to let her finish her last couple of years home schooling. Because she’s such a smart girl, sometimes she would get ahead and wouldn’t have to rush the next morning, so we ended up establishing a tradition called “midnight breakfast“.
We would wait until my husband and son went to bed and we would go out around midnight-ish to whatever restaurants were open. Usually it was something like pancake diners, certain burger places, local delis, etc. that would stay open 24/7.
This was our special time, and it meant so much. We looked forward to it about twice a month, and during the summer her girlfriends would come along with us, and we had SO much fun!
Now, my baby girl is 20 years old, lives away from home and we so miss our midnight breakfasts. However, now we have established a new tradition – Croissant and Chocolate Breakfast.
So perfect!!
So, now we enjoy a lazy, late breakfast with coffee, fresh croissants, fresh fruit, and the best part – decadent Ghirardelli Intense Dark chocolate. Only the best chocolate will do for this!
Croissant and Chocolate Breakfast is our special time; this is when we talk about what’s going on, we talk about boys, friends, and we laugh and eat. It’s girl time with no guys, no distractions, no phones and most importantly – it’s memories that are made with just the two of us.
We chose Ghirardelli Intense Dark chocolate because we have always LOVED it. I’ve used it for baking, for crumbling over ice cream, or just a little bite of chocolate after lunch. The quality of their chocolate really is superb. Although all of Ghirardelli’s chocolate is great, last week she and I tried Ghirardelli’s Sea Salt Soiree and 92% Cacao Midnight Mystique from their Intense Dark chocolate line and, oh my word, we loved it.
Y’all – this is real, it’s intense, very complex and perfectly dark chocolate.
Needless to say, it’s for the real chocolate lovers.
