Every now and then I get a craving that is so damn unhealthy. Yes, I have a foodie conscious.
Occasionally I really want a hot dog.
I said it.
What.
I also have a habit of taking something very plain-Jane and making it so very not plain. It’s the only way I really know how to eat. I just can’t do plain. If I’m going to make it, it won’t be a simple ass hot dog with ketchup.
No.
I love Reubens, and they have been on my mind lately…and I’m craving a hot dog. So, what does one do?
One makes a Reuben Hot Dog.
And she throws jalapeños on top, of course.
Here’s your printable –
Ingredients
- 1 package beef hot dogs
- 3 tbsp mayo
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 jalapeno, diced
- 6 dill pickle chips, diced
- 1 tsp seasoned salt
- Sauerkraut
- Baby Swiss cheese, shredded
- Hot dog buns
- Extra jalapeno slices
Instructions
- Grill hot dogs until done; keep grill hot.
- Mix mayo through seasoned salt in a small bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Place hot dogs in buns and top with cheese and put back on the grill and cover until cheese melts.
- Add sauerkraut, dressing and jalapenos.
- Serve.
These were literally so good I couldn’t take it. And the jalapeños on top??
Why not.
Sometimes you just have to give in and indulge.
YOLO
😉

Loving the sauerkraut with the jalapeños on this dog, see you have veggies on it. That makes it healthy, right? 🙂
These look seriously delicious!
We would love for you to share one of your awesome recipes with everyone at http://www.alabamawomenbloggers.com for a Foodie Friday guest post!
Not fair! It’s just not fair that you took a bite from that gorgeous Reuben Dog and didn’t offer any to me! (I love Reuben Dogs too!)
