Pigtails and Cheese!
This, my world wide besties, is the epitome of comfort food. Hickory smoked pulled pork combined with creamy macaroni and cheese; two comfort food favorites all in one bowl. You’re probably wondering what made me make such a thing!
While doing some shopping a few days ago, I stopped by Wal-Mart to pick up some things for watching a football game and found this – Curly’s® Smoked Pulled Pork with BBQ sauce.
It’s really easy to find; they stock it in the meat/seafood department.
This BBQ pork is already fully cooked, and can be ready to eat in just a few minutes. How PERFECT is that?? All you have to do is put it in the microwave and serve. This is something great to have on hand when you’ve having company and you have your hands full. I was anxious to taste it because I wanted to know if this really did taste like smoked BBQ pork, and it did! I was very pleasantly surprised.
The pork isn’t what you would expect from a sealed container in a grocery store; it tastes much better. Instead of making the typical BBQ sandwiches, I wanted to do something a bit different.
I made Pigtails and Cheese – creamy, cheesy macaroni and cheese combined with bbq pulled pork. It is absolutely delicious, and was perfect for game day, and clean up was easy.
I happened to have this type of pasta in my pantry – it’s called trottole. You could also use fusilli, which is a smaller ringlet pasta, and you should be able to find either at Wal-Mart or most grocery stores. Either way, they look like little pigtails and seemed fitting because of the BBQ pork.
Not to mention cute!
There are two other must-try Curly’s products – Curly’s® Bold & Spicy Smoked Pulled Pork with BBQ Sauce and Curly’s® Hickory Smoked & Seasoned Baby Back Pork Ribs with Barbecue Sauce. With Curly’s BBQ Pork you can make BBQ sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes, etc. BBQ pork nachos would be delicious!!
