Krave Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

These Krave Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles are exactly what you need when those chocolate cravings hit – they’re chocolatey, cookie dough-y with a fun crunchiness you’ll crave. Ha! Pun intended.

Forgive me.

I think I might be a rebel.

These truffles have raw cookie dough. *There is eggless, ready to make, safe to eat raw, cookie dough in the refrigerated area of most grocery stores. I’ve also included a couple of eggless cookie dough recipes at the bottom of this post if you want to make the dough.

Yes, I used cookie dough that has raw eggs that I then dipped in melted chocolate, decorated and fed to my family.

I know, I know, it’s not very “safe”.

However.

Let’s think about this. How many times during your lifetime have you licked the spoon/spatula/whisk after your mom made cookie dough/cake batter/brownie mix? How many times did your mom give you the damn spoon covered in chocolate stuff after she was finished mixing so you could finish it off?

That’s right. Many damn times. (And keep in mind she could have scraped that spatula much better but she didn’t because she loves you and you were salivating over it.)

And, oh, you’re still here.

So, apparently in the 1980’s there was an outbreak of salmonella that was linked back to a dairy or a bakery, or both.

Google it if you want. It won’t change the fact that you licked that spatula.

That being said, I’m not advocating the consumption of raw eggs.

Eat them at your own discretion. Hell, we use our own discretion when we go out for sushi knowing there’s a risk.

There’s risks everywhere; you just have to be comfortable in choosing your risks to take.

These truffles, however, can be made with egg or eggless cookie dough.

What Makes Krave Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles So Special?

Speaking of consumption, have y’all tried Kellogg’s Krave cereal? It’s basically a vanilla flavored, fluffy, yet crunchy type of cereal filled with chocolate in the middle – and my family is obsessed with it.

I have a feeling when I buy it, they hide the shit from each other.

They are literally bottomless pits that I can’t seem to keep up with; I seriously cannot control these appetites.

I’m talking about a 17 year old boy, a 15 year old girl and a 43 year old man that has sugar cravings that are almost unnatural.

And no, Kellogg’s is not paying me; this is not a sponsored post.

So, since my favorite people in the world are obsessed with this stuff I thought I would play around and make a dessert with it. And probably piss them off by using it.

*wink*

(They got a new dessert out of it, so they’ll be ok). The truffles taste just like you would expect them to, but with a fun crunchiness.
