I ♥ Greek flavors.
Hummus, Tzaziki, feta cheese, Kalamata olives. I love them ALL.
Here’s a few examples in case you missed them…
Oregano Chicken with Pearl Couscous and Greek Salsa
Why not incorporate all of them into a burger?
I made a double decker, just to make sure I crammed all the good stuff in there. I guess you could also call it a Greek Big Mac.
Oh, and I added caramelized onions.
Here’s your printable-
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground round
- 1 tbsp seasoned salt
- 1 tsp coarse pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced thin
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/3 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cucumber, diced
- 1 tbsp dill
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 12 Burger buns, split
- Hummus - store bought or use this recipe
- Feta cheese, crumbled
- Kalamata olives, diced
- 1 small jalapeno, diced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Petite diced tomatoes
Instructions
- Combine ground round, salt and pepper and form into thin patties (about 6), cover and refrigerate.
- Heat olive oil over medium heat and add onions; sprinkle with salt and sugar. Using tongs, toss onions to coat. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until caramelized; remove from heat.
- Increase heat to medium-high and add burgers, a few at a time, cooking until done.
- Combine the Greek yogurt, cucumber, dill, lemon and salt to make Tzaziki sauce.
- Combine Feta cheese, olives, jalapeno and olives oil with a fork; mashing together.
- To assemble burgers, spread hummus on the bottom half of a bun, add a burger, top with feta mixture, top with another bun bottom and spread Tzaziki on top, then add tomatoes followed by another burger, more feta mixture, caramelized onions and more Tzaziki.
- Continue with the rest of the burger ingredients.
