Candied Bacon

I have other posts to get out to you that are so important, but yesterday on a whim I candied up some bacon!

It was so good and had to share. This will be short and sweet because I’m working on a giveaway post 😉

So good.

I adapted it from Emeril Lagasse’s Cayenned Candied Bacon  – you know I had to throw some heat in there.

Very easy –

1 lb. bacon

1 cup light brown sugar

3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine the brown sugar and pepper in a small bowl and individually press the slices of bacon (both sides) in the mixture until fully coated.

Bake on a cookie sheet lined with foil for 20-25 minutes, until crispy. Drain on paper towels for a few minutes, then transfer to a plate.

I was feeling adventerous and crumbled it over french vanilla ice cream.

The kids loved it.

I’m thinking of more ways to eat it. What’s your ideas??

Have a wonderful Monday, and remember to watch out for my next post where I’m giving away something fun for the kitchen!

xoxo
