Buffalo, Bacon and Blue Cheese Turkey Sliders

I know.

The name is a mouthful.

And it doesn’t even completely describe exactly how delicious these are.

IMGP8569They’re a combination of ground turkey and ground chicken. The taste is surprisingly good, and the texture is even different from your typical turkey burger. I mixed the two out of sheer curiosity because that kind of thing entertains me.

IMGP8612Of course you could always use ground beef or just turkey without the chicken, or just chicken without the turkey. Or all of the above. I wonder what that would taste like?

That’s an interesting thought…I may have to try that.

If you don’t know this yet, bacon, blue cheese and buffalo sauce together is pure crack. Remember the Bacon and Blue Cheese Buffalo Guacamole? Just another example of straight up crackedness.

Buffalo Bacon Blue Cheese Sliders

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp seasoned salt
  • 1 tbsp coarse pepper
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb bacon, cooked
  • 12 slider buns
  • Toppings - Use amounts to your preference:
  • Blue cheese
  • Mayo
  • Green leaf lettuce (or your favorite green)
  • Buffalo sauce

Instructions

  • Combine ground turkey, ground chicken, salt, pepper and Worcestershire until thoroughly combined. I used my KitchenAid stand mixer, which makes it very easy.
  • Form into slider sized patties, place on a cookie sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Remove and grill (or cook on the stove) until done.
  • Assemble sliders by spreading mayo on the bottom half of bun, add turkey/chicken patty, blue cheese, bacon, lettuce and hot sauce.
