A Day In The Life Of Shea (aka Dixie Chik)

Taking a cue from my cousin, Meighan from Heavens to Meighan, I decided to do a “Day In Pictures” post for y’all. Check hers out here.

Isn’t she so cute? She’s more like my sister than my cousin, by the way. Her and her man, Ben, are over usually once a week to have dinner with us. She has nicknamed my house the “Goldstein Grill” –  she literally named it that on FB for when she “checks in” here. She never ceases to provide us with well-needed humor.

Let’s start my day, shall we?

Our alarm is always set for 5:30 am.  Do I hit the snooze button a time or two?

Yes. Yes, I do. I’m a proud snooze-button-hitter. Now, it’s time to wake the kids up for school.

This is my daughter, the Queen of All Morning Haters. I have to admit I started snapping pictures so she would get her ass out of bed.

And she did.

Mark putting his shoes on, getting ready to leave for work. BTW, Can I get y’all to sign a petition for me to get him to grow his goatee back? I miss it.

About 7:00, kids and husband are out the door. At this point I usually sit down to check email, edit pictures, return calls, etc.

This is where the magic happens. Pure blogalicious magic. Please disregard the kleenex/notebook/dog food bag-in-the-background mess you see to the left of my laptop.

Oh, and this is our breakfast table in the kitchen that’s been “mod podged” with family pictures. Just wanted you to know that we don’t have a bunch of random ass pictures tossed across our table like those people on Hoarders.

So, now at this point I’m out and about running errands . You know…

Hittin’ up Walgreens to pick up facial moisturizer and a box of antihistamines.

Like a boss.

Back home.

It’s 11:11, make a wish.

And take a shower.

What? You thought you’d see more?

For the love of God, get your minds out of the gutter.

Anyway…below, you see laundry that needs to be folded that I put on our bed around 8:00 this morning.

Hey, I got the bed made. Don’t judge.

Recipe development/photoshoot time. I had an idea that came into my head last night and put it together today. Y’all will see it soon. It involves capers and avocado…and obviously croissants.

Now, photo editing and writing. And, yes, that’s me and Mark on my desktop.

Laptop desktop background photo, that is. What did I just say about the gutter?

I’m starting to see specks of who-knows-what in the carpet in the great room and I can’t take it anymore so I drag the vacuum out. I have a huge thing for vacuum lines. Aren’t these great? I know it’s a psychological thing, but deep in my soul those lines mean clean…

Remember these towels that needed to be folded?

Yeah… Still there. But I have an appointment to get ready for, so they can wait.

Tonight’s Date Night!

So, how exciting was that??

P.S.  I want to acknowledge all of the families in Connecticut that are suffering. It was a tragic, senseless tragedy and I am thinking about them and their families. I know God is with them. Please pray for them along with me.

How did I miss this post? So sinking cute! Just curious though, did those towels ever get folded? 😉 Date night usually means my kids do the folding… It’s worth a few extra minutes with the hubby. xoxo

They did…eventually!! I wish I could say the kids folded them. I might have to get you up here to lay some law down because they only argue with me. Oh, and then we could go get Mexican and Margaritas for some girl time 😉

Isn’t it amazing how fast a day goes by? I totally relate to the towels on the bed. Used to pile them on the guest room bed, and they NEVER got folded. Changed to our bed thinking, I’d ( or somebody else) wouls have to fold them….they just ended up on the floor next to the bed;)

ABSOLUTELY!! My husband ends up throwing them on the floor and they get tossed on the bed again the next day lol. Thanks for visiting Connie!
